The SFSF is an independent, non-profit organization run entirely by GC volunteers. Our goal is to raise funds each year to provide scholarships to a majority of the qualified applicants. Scholarships may be for degreed programs as well as individual courses that help advance career goals. In some cases, scholarship funds may be used for the purchase of books and equipment required for course work. Applicants are evaluated based on a set of criteria established by the SFSF Board of Directors. The SFSF awarded 25 scholarships in 2023 consisting of 14 employees and 11 children of employees. The scholarship recipients were announced in September 2023 during SFSF’s annual meeting for all members of Governors Club. The organization made 18 awards in 2022. Please refer to “Recipients” for a list. The deadline for degree program applications for second semester and/or summer school of the 2024 school year is November 01, 2023. Applications for individual or online courses will be handled on an ad hoc basis by the Scholarship Committee and may be awarded at any time during the calendar year. We all know GC has an exceptional group of dedicated and capable employees. This program is one way to show our appreciation for their hard work and service and to make an investment in their futures.
